This is the latest edition. It took place over three beautiful days on 13, 14 and 15 September 2024. The programme was broadly the same as that of previous editions, but there were some new features, notably the presence of more Youngtimers and Modern GTs.

Friday: welcome
The competitors met up at the Troyes market square. The aim was to show off their beautiful bodies to the public in Troyes and to get a first taste of the crowds… but that’s not all! Competitors could also pick up their welcome pack with gifts and, above all, the road-books for the following day.
As the 48 Heures Automobiles de Troyes is an event that attracts crews from all over Europe every year, not only French drivers but also Germans, Belgians, Czechs and Poles were on hand with classic cars and some more surprising ones.
Saturday Classic Car Rallies
Starry Rendezvous
The competitors in the 48 Heures Automobiles de Troyes 2024 were divided into three different rallies. Two of them met at our partner’s Mercedes-Benz dealership in Rosières-près-Troyes. A first welcome over a coffee and the opportunity to see again the cars they had seen the day before or to discover others.
On the road
Then it was off to the start. Two rallies set off from a distance towards the Pays d’Othe. In the first, there were only vintage cars. We drove through hills and apple trees towards Ervy le Châtel for a coffee break.
Immediately afterwards, and on the same roads, there was something new: the modern and youngtimers. For the first time, they were more than welcome to take part in the 48 Heures Automobiles de Troyes 2024, with a rally dedicated to them… and necessarily a little longer so as not to catch up with the venerable oldtimers at the front.
Then it’s back to the vineyards as the lunchtime rendezvous approaches, and the finish of the third rally, which has crossed to the other side of the Aube.
Everyone at Les Riceys
Another new feature of these 48 Heures Automobiles de Troyes 2024 is a single lunchtime meeting. The huge table is set up at the Château de Taisne in Les Riceys. A glass of Champagne at the finish, cars on display for everyone to appreciate the size of the event, and then it’s time to eat!
Back on the road
We swap road-books in the afternoon. Well, almost. The rally set off from St-Julien-les-Villas in the morning, heading for the Pays d’Othe. It’s an opportunity to see them drive through the vineyards in the middle of the grape harvest.
The other competitors headed for the lakes. They first pass through Vendeuvre before heading up along the lakes towards Piney. The field is much more fragmented and the participants in the 48 Heures Automobiles de Troyes 2024 drive according to the groups of friends or the friendships made at lunchtime.
Last pause
This is the last meeting of the day (apart from the Gala evening). The 48 Heures Automobiles de Troyes 2024 meet in Onjon for a final coffee in the middle of the afternoon. There, the participants join a few enthusiasts and a public of connoisseurs for a final crowd bath before returning to Troyes and the finish of these rallies.
Classic car shows on Sunday
Sunday was the big crowd-pulling day of the 48 Heures Automobiles de Troyes 2024 at Menois. But that’s not all there was to it. Here’s a look back at the final day of the event.
The Morning Rally
While some went straight to Menois as soon as they woke up, others started the day with a walk. Meet up at St-Julien-les-Villas for the start of this one. Many competitors wanted to stretch their wheels. After a welcome breakfast and speeches by the local councillors, the oldest car present, a 1928 Peugeot, set off. After a nice drive, we head for the Château de Menois.
The 48 Heures Automobiles de Troyes 2024 at Menois
There were a lot of great things to see in Menois for these 48 Heures Automobiles de Troyes 2024. As we had to start somewhere, we began behind the castle. This is where the classic cars that weren’t taking part in the other days of the event are grouped together. It’s a collector’s car park that fills up fast and will see some very fine cars come and go throughout the day.
We continue with the exhibitors’ village. Behind the château, the exhibitors were mainly motorbikes. At the front, however, it’s all about cars, with a wide range of services and specialists in classic cars and their maintenance.
The end of the morning was punctuated by the auction of the 48 Heures Automobiles de Troyes 2024. Organised by Ivoire Troyes, the auction featured some very fine lots, with buyers present both online and in the audience. Ferraris, Mercedes, Porsches and R8 Gordinis were a big hit.
While the many food-trucks are busy at lunchtime, it’s time to take a look around the car park. The cars we’d seen the day before were there, of course. We’ve grouped up in groups of friends and there’s a really nice variety of vintage cars.
At 3pm, it’s time for the Concours d’Élégance of the 48 Heures Automobiles de Troyes 2024, organised by the FFVE. 23 cars are in the running for the Grand Prix d’Excellence, and three other class winners will also be rewarded. A prize will also be awarded by the Automobile Club de France to the most beautiful French car.
The prize list is here:
Grand Prix d’Excellence: Delage D6-70
Pre-war: BMW 328
Pre-1960: Jaguar XK140
Post-1960: Dino 246 GTS
