The 2012 48 Heures Automobiles de Troyes

For the last time, the poster for the 2012 48 Heures Automobiles de Troyes is a colourful one by Paul Bracq. This year’s event supports Outil en Main, an association that enables retired people to pass on their “manual” skills to children.

Friday’s starting points are Château de la Motte-Tilly, Droupt-Saint-Basle, La Cordelière and Domaine Champagne Jean-Marie Février in Gyé-sur-Seine. They meet up in Troyes on Boulevard Delestrain at the end of the day.

The following day, they start from the same boulevard and from the Intermarché in St Julien les Villas. After four rallies featuring Amilcar, Bugatti, Citroën and Delage, all great names in French motoring, an exhibition was held in Saint-Julien-les-Villas.

On Sunday morning, a rally will leave from La Chapelle-Saint-Luc. After a drive through the Aube countryside, it will take you to the Boulevard Gambetta in Troyes, where the cars will take to the track in the afternoon, amid a host of entertainment.

To coincide with the 2012 48 Heures Automobiles de Troyes, an exhibition dedicated to Panhard et Levassor will be held at the media library. On display is Antoinette, a car bought by Abbé Gavois in the Somme. It’s an old one, ready to drive, the oldest known for years. A Panhard 24BT is up for grabs in the raffle.
